It has a new name!
The 1882 Venue
A little history about this building....St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church was erected on a stone foundation in 1869 in far northern Warrick County (at SR 61 and Spurgeon Road) where its cemetery still remains. In 1882 the church was dismantled and moved into the town of Lynnville where it is currently located. The ground had an existing house on it that served as the parsonage. The church was rededicated on September 24,1882. In 1898, the church was extended to accommodate a 24 x24 school room. The renovated church and school house were dedicated on October 16,1899. In 1907, the "Luther Club" was founded for fellowship, entertainment and beautifying the church property. In 1948 the school room was enlarged to the parish hall. In 1957 the parsonage was torn down and new one constructed. In 1969 the church celebrated its centennial anniversary.
On November 9, 1997 after 128 years of services the church closed. At that time there were 4 members active in the church, those 4 members donated the church to the Town of Lynnville. The parsonage and its adjacent ground were sold. Since 1997 the church has been utilized as a preschool, meeting place for organizations and most recently storage for documents and the food pantry for the town. Approximately 5 years ago the town began improvements to bring it back to use for the community as which it was intended. Many structural upgrades have been made and with more on the horizon. As we continue progress we will be reaching out to the community for assistance in improvements. Stay tuned for more information on this!
Next month The 1882 Venue will begin hosting the farmer's market known as The Maker's Market for all things homegrown, handmade and hand crafted. The market will be the second Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. 1 p.m. running June to October.

WARRICK COUNTY RESIDENTS
IDHS to Open Applications for State Disaster Relief Fund for Individual Assistance
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has opened applications to the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) for residents who incurred damage to their homes or property located in qualifying jurisdictions from any of the following disaster events:
• March 1, 2025: Mine Collapse
Applications to help with immediate needs will be capped at $2000 initially, although eligible homeowners could receive additional assistance after a complete damage assessment is finished.
The State Disaster Relief Fund applies only to individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. State funding cannot replace insurance coverage, which is the primary and best source of protection from storm damage. The maximum payout from the SDRF for an individual is $25,000. The fund only addresses the costs of repairing, replacing or restoring property that is the primary residence of the applicant.
